Lakers smash Thornton-Eildon by 105 in ANZAC weekend clash at Thornton

Kinglake’s 2018 season got off to a flying start winning senior and reserves football and the A and B grade netball, all by significant margins, against Thornton-Eildon at the Thornton Recreation Reserve.

The Lakers are now top of the seniors, reserves and A grade and B grade netball ladders with 4 points for the win and a massive percentage boost which could make all the difference at the business end of the season.

At the quarter time huddle Kinglake co-coach Nathan Booker congratulated the boys on a terrific start to season 2018.

“A really good contest, 21 pressure acts inside 50 … if we keep that up we’ll have 80 a game … that’s unheard of boys.

“They’re [Thornton-Eildon] not very well skilled, they’re a bit overweight. They’re not going to run with us boys.”

“Every time we [Kinglake] get a chance turn, look to the the other side.

“A really good start boys,” Booker said.
