Alexandra residents and businesses may lose internet, wi-fi and mobile access, temporarily when a Telstra mobile network upgrade occurs from next week.

Telstra will be upgrading the mobile network from Monday 7 to Friday 18 August. Any outages should be limited to the Alexandra township area.

Telstra told Murrindindi Shire that:

“Mobile services will be impacted at various times during this period. These upgrade works can cause disruption to all devices using the Telstra Mobile Network, including but not limited to mobile handsets, EFTPOS machines, and any device with a Telstra Mobile SIM.”

Telstra, via Murrindinid Shire, assured customers that every effort will be made to reduce the impact. The upgrade will deliver improved 4G capacity and 5G technology.
