NEWPORT, VIC. — A celebration of life in all its stages, Prime Time interrogates the relationship between age, power, visibility, and value. This new intergenerational work challenges our assumptions and expectations about age and ageing.
Featuring a cast of 14, aged between 5 and 93, Prime Time forges new dialogues across generations through shared stories, perspectives, dance and sound.
Prime Time experiments with the intersections of theatre, dance, live and recorded text, sound composition and visual design.
Evolving since April 2023, Prime Time draws on multiple recorded interviews with community members in Melbourne’s West spanning 10 decades, four research workshops, and 170 community members to bring together a mix of professional and community performers and a crack creative team to create a brave new work in the spirit of authentic connection, shared story and play.
