OAKLEIGH SOUTH, VIC. — Protective Services Officers have arrested a 53-year-old man after emergency services were called to reports of a factory fire on Valley Street, Oakleigh South, at 2.48am today.

Firefighters were first dispatched by Triple Zero at 2.48am and upon arrival, firefighters found the factory fully involved in fire and escalated the response to a second alarm.

The fire caused minor property damage. There were no injuries.

Police arrested a 53-year-old man at Clayton Railway Station shortly after, and he remains in custody.

Detectives will interview him today.

An investigation is ongoing.
