YEA, VIC. — As part of Murrindindi Shire Council’s ongoing commitment to beautify, protect and enhance the local landscape, tree planting works will be undertaken along Whatton Place and Miller Street, Yea, on both sides of the road.
The planting has been designed to improve the local streetscape and provide additional shade for pedestrians using this area.
Tree species selection
Tree species have been carefully selected to suit the local environment and conditions on each side of the street:

- Medium to large-sized trees with autumn colours
East (river) side – Chinese Pistachio
- Slow to moderate growth rate
- High tolerance to most growing conditions
- Small to medium-sized trees with green foliage and yellow, orange and red autumn tones
Timing and impacts
Planting is scheduled to take place in June 2026.
During the work period, you may notice:
- Short-term activity from contractors
- Minor disruptions within immediate work zones
Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
