Three people have been charged by police after allegedly stealing a vehicle and driving erratically in Geelong overnight.

Allegedly, the trio were observed driving erratically behind the Geelong Police Station and in the Newtown, South Geelong and East Geelong areas about 12.40am on July 26.

The vehicle, an orange Isuzu utility, was allegedly stolen from a Geelong residence overnight between July 24 and 25.

With assistance from Air Wing, the Dog Squad, and Highway Patrol officers, stop sticks were successfully deployed in Tully Street before the vehicle was located in Garden Street a short time later.

A 29-year-old East Geelong man has been charged with dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, unlicensed driving, drug driving, theft of a motor vehicle and other traffic offences.

A 28-year-old Grovedale woman has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and deception offences.

The pair have been remanded to face the Geelong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

An 18-year-old Norlane male has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

He has been bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
