Road rage incident sees Morwell man charged

A 50-year-old Morwell man has been charged with seven offences following an alleged road rage incident where a knife was brandished in Tynong North about 4pm yesterday.

A 50-year-old Morwell man has been charged with seven offences following an alleged road rage incident where a knife was brandished in Tynong North about 4pm yesterday.

Police received reports of a Holden Astra allegedly driving erratically and tailing a sedan along the Princes Freeway.

It’s alleged the Astra rammed the sedan, causing the Astra to roll.

The driver of the Astra allegedly got out of his vehicle armed with a knife however members of the public managed to separate the pair until police arrived.

The driver of the Astra was arrested at the scene.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The Morwell man has been charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, driving in a manner dangerous, careless driving, criminal damage, unlawful assault, assault with a weapon and possessing a controlled weapon.

He was bailed to appear before Dandenong Magistrate’s Court on November 3.
