Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Thornbury at about 6pm yesterday.
Investigators believe a Toyota 4WD was travelling east on Dundas Street when the car drove onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a power pole near Victoria Street.
The driver, a 62-year-old man from Lalor, died at the scene.
No one else was injured.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
At this stage, it’s believed the driver had a medical episode prior to the crash.
Victoria’s 2023 road toll stands at 153 lives lost compared to 118 lives lost at this time last year.
