The Homicide Squad is investigating after a 46-year-old Mooroopna man died in hospital yesterday afternoon following an alleged assault at a supermarket on McLennan Street, Mooroopna about 7.15pm on May 22.
Emergency services were called following reports a man had been assaulted and the Mooroopna man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A 19-year-old Shepparton man was previously charged by local detectives in relation to the incident.
The investigation will now be led by the Homicide Squad. The charges will be reviewed in due course.
The 19-year-old Shepparton man remains in custody and will appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on October 3, 2023.
The 46-year-old Mooroopna man died on Monday, June 6.
