Police have arrested a 15-year-old Lara teenager after an allegedly stolen Mazda evaded police in Norlane overnight.

Geelong Highway Patrol officers first saw the silver Mazda travelling north on Princes Highway just after 8pm.

As police continued back to the Princes Highway they spotted the allegedly stolen Mazda which had been involved in a collision with a white utility at the intersection of Bacchus Marsh Road.

The male driver fled the scene on foot. He was located nearby and arrested and taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger of the Mazda, a 21-year-old Norlane woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has spoken to police.

Three occupants of the utility were not injured.
