MILDURA, VIC. — Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested six teenagers following multiple incidents, including an aggravated home invasion, in Mildura this week.
It is alleged that multiple offenders attended a property on Ellswood Crescent on Thursday, January 15, around 3am.
The offenders allegedly tried to gain access through the windows before being disturbed by an occupant of the home and fleeing.
Detectives allege multiple offenders attended a property on Beasy Court on Friday, January 16, at about 2.25am.
According to detectives, the offenders allegedly attempted to open two vehicles parked in the open garage before attempting to open the front door and a window.
An occupant of the home awoke to the noise and disturbed the offenders, causing them to flee.
Shortly after, it is alleged that the offenders attended a property on Walnut Avenue and gained access to a unit about 3.25am.
They allegedly stole three sets of car keys, a wallet and $1000 cash, before taking off in the victim’s Dodge RAM valued at around $130,000.
Investigators conducted extensive enquiries into the whereabouts of the offenders and subsequently located and arrested six teenagers.
Additionally, detectives will allege the offenders were involved in other thefts from motor vehicles and property-related offending overnight.
A 13-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with 14 offences, including aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and theft.
He appeared at a Children’s Court yesterday.
A 15-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated home invasion, home invasion and theft of a motor vehicle.
He also appeared at a Children’s Court yesterday, the outcome of which we can not report.
A 13-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with attempted aggravated home invasion and bail offences. He was bailed to appear at Children’s Court at a later date.
A 15-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with attempted aggravated home invasion and was granted bail by the Children’s Court. He was also bailed to appear at a later date.
A 15-year-old girl from the Mildura area was cautioned for theft of a motor vehicle.
A 19-year-old Mildura man was charged with four counts of theft of a motor vehicle and bailed to appear in Mildura Magistrates’ Court on May 12.
