Elon Musk, the self-proclaimed ‘tech genius’ who bought Twitter – which he rebranded as ‘X’, before manipulating it for his gain is now facing a mass exodus from X as people move over to Blue Sky.
Upon Musk’s purchase of Twitter (X) he changed the algorithms to ensure right-wing Trump content, and his sycophants, such as Alex Jones, and other right-wing ‘content creators’ got priority on the platform, whilst other, more central or left-of-centre ‘tweets’ were downgraded or completely hidden.
There is no doubt that Elon Musk manipulated the algorithms of X to “pump up Trump” just so he could gain access to the US halls of power.
We, as are many others, are now following each other on Blue Sky. Many of whom followed each other on X in the past.
Bots and controversial right-wing figures, including Donald Trump, had their previously banned X accounts re-instated by Musk.

Following a decision made by Musk’s X on October 16, 2024, changing how the block feature worked, where blocked accounts could still see posts by users who blocked them if their profile is public … Bluesky announced that over 1.2 million users had joined within two days.
Elon Musk’s X could face the same fate as My Space and at best it may only survive as a right-wing Trump-loving echo chamber.
Blue Sky is the “Twitter of old” before Elon Musk got his hands on it and turned it into his own personal right-wing echo chamber.
By doing so, Elon Musk has demonstrated that he is an agent of power, not people.
Therefore, the same must now apply to X. It’s not there to be your or my voice – the voice of the people, it’s Musk’s platform to be the voice of power, Trump’s power and Trump’s voice, not yours.
The right-wing commentator who towed along with Trump at times, Laura Loomer, was suspended from Blue Sky within hours of her signing up.
Blue Sky uses the AT protocol. Blue Sky was founded by Jack Dorsey – the founder of Twitter – in 2019.
