Police are investigating a fatal crash on Wallan Road, Whittlesea about 4.30pm yesterday.
Police understand the ute was travelling along Wallan Road when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
An 89-year-old Wallan man died at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined.
Investigations remain ongoing.
