Early this morning Fire Rescue Victoria received a triple zero call for a fire in a brick veneer garage on Waranga Crescent, Broadmeadows.

The first fire truck arrived within 4 minutes and upgraded the response to a second alarm as 35 firefighters found a single-storey brick veneer dwelling well alight.

Firefighters accounted for all persons upon arrival whilst crews in breathing apparatus worked to contain the fire to the garage.

Crews currently remain on the scene to extinguish and overhaul the property.

The cause and origin of the fire are yet to be determined.

Six pumpers, a rescue unit and an aerial appliance attended the scene.
