Detectives are investigating a fatal collision on Shaws Raod, Werribee about 9.15pm last night.
Emergency services were called when it is understood a child was struck by a car.
Paramedics worked on the child, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The female driver of the car stopped at the scene and assisted police with enquiries.
Police are working to establish the exact circumstances of the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
