Police have charged four teenage girls after pursuing them in Melbourne’s northern suburbs in an allegedly stolen car at about 12.30am.

Police have charged four teenage girls after pursuing them in Melbourne’s northern suburbs in an allegedly stolen car at about 12.30am. 

The alleged stolen car was followed through Carlton before it came to a stop on Queensbury Street.

Five girls were arrested at the scene.

A 16-year-old Deer Park girl has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, burglary and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

A 16-year-old Fitzroy North girl was charged with motor vehicle theft and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

A 15-year-old Brookfield girl has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, burglary and two counts of obtaining property by deception.

They have been remanded to appear at a children’s court later today.

A 16-year-old Melton West girl was charged with theft of motor vehicle.

She will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 15-year-old girl from Fitzroy has been released pending summons.
