LALOR, VIC. — Armed Crime Squad detectives yesterday arrested five people following a non-fatal shooting in Lalor last Sunday.
With assistance from the Special Operations Group, a 23-year-old Box Hill man was arrested at a residential address on Station Street in Box Hill on Wednesday, January 14.
He has since been charged with 14 offences, including reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing injury, being a prohibited person using a firearm and possessing a loaded firearm in a public place.
The man faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last night and was remanded to appear again on April 8.
A further four people present at the address were arrested, including:

- A 23-year-old Thomastown man who was charged with possession of a drug of dependence and possession of a prohibited weapon. He was bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates Court on March 2.

- A 19-year-old Richmond man, a 20-year-old Lalor man and a 22-year-old North Melbourne woman. All three were released and are expected to be charged on summons.
Detectives seized a handgun, an imitation firearm, cocaine and cash during the search.
Yesterday’s arrests follow an incident on Sunday, January 11, where police will allege shots were fired in a carpark on Mosaic Drive about 3.30am.
A 29-year-old man was driven to hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body.
Police believe the incident was targeted and that the parties involved were known to each other.
