GREENVALE, VIC. — Police have arrested a 29-year-old Meadow Heights man at about 2pm following a firearms incident in Greenvale this morning.
Investigators understand the Meadow Heights man was seen loitering near a residence by two occupants of a property on Peak Road about 9am.
When the pair confronted the man, he pushed a 62-year-old woman to the ground and attempted to flee.
Investigators understand that the man then walked nearby to a Toyota van, returning to the pair with a firearm.
Officers have been told the man pointed the firearm at a 66-year-old man.
During a struggle, the 66-year-old man managed to disarm the man, who fled on foot and left the van behind.
The 62-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the 66-year-old man was not physically injured.
He is being interviewed in relation to the incident.
The Toyota van is understood to have been recently stolen from the Somerton area.
A police investigation remains ongoing.
