LYNDHURST, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Lyndhurst last year.
Emergency services were called to the Westernport Highway to reports of a collision involving two cars and a truck about 4.40pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
It is understood that a grey Mercedes-Benz, a silver Kia Rio and a white Isuzu truck were travelling south along the highway between Glassocks Road and Thompsons Road when the collision occurred.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 66-year-old Cranbourne man, died at the scene.
The drivers of the Kia and the truck were not seriously injured.
Detectives yesterday charged a 39-year-old Endeavour Hills man with dangerous driving causing death, destruction of evidence, driving in a manner dangerous, careless driving and touching a portable device while driving.
He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 3.
