NARRE WARREN, VIC. — A man has died in hospital following an assault in Narre Warren South last week.

Emergency services were called to reports of a man being assaulted at Strathaird Reserve about 3.15pm last Friday, June 12.

A 63-year-old Clyde North man was transported to hospital with critical injuries, where he died this morning, Thursday, June 18.

Two men, a 21-year-old man of no fixed place of address and a 22-year-old Narre Warren South man, were charged on June 15 and 13, respectively, with recklessly causing serious injury.

Both men remain in custody.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad will assume primacy of the investigation and will consider alternate charges following the results of a postmortem.

Police believe the parties involved knew each other.

An investigation is ongoing.
