Meadow Heights collision leaves woman with critical injuries

Major Collison Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a pedestrian was critically injured in Meadow Heights at about 7:15 this morning.

Major Collison Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a pedestrian was critically injured in Meadow Heights at about 7:15 this morning.

Police have been told a 51-year-old Meadow Heights woman was crossing Pascoe Vale Road, near Shankland Boulevard when she was struck by a car.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old driver, also of Meadow Heights, stopped at the scene.

He is currently in custody.
