BUNDOORA, VIC. — Detectives from the Darebin Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) are appealing for public assistance in their investigation into an aggravated burglary when a group of offenders arrived on e-bikes and damaged a fence at the Bundoora Park farm café on Plenty Road, Bundoora, at about 12.15am on Sunday, September 20.
Police were told they broke into several sheds and stole garden tools before stealing a tractor and driving it into the front doors of a café on the premises.
The offenders were disturbed by an alarm and abandoned the tractor with its engine still running.
Police believe they fled on e-bikes and are urging anyone who was driving in the area just before or after the incident to check their dashcam footage.
“Due [to] unforeseen circumstances and significant vandalism, Bundoora Park Farm will be closed to the general public tomorrow, Monday, September 21,” a Bundoora Park spokesperson said on Facebook.
