Police nab drink drivers in Taylors Lake

Police last night caught two alleged drink drivers in Taylors Lakes on Kings Road at about 7pm.

Officers were operating a random breath testing site when a woman was waved in for a breath test.

The 63-year-old underwent a preliminary breath test before undertaking an evidentiary breath test, returning an alleged reading of 0.227 per cent BAC.

The Delahey woman’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days for $1014.

A few hours later, officers waved a man in to be tested.

The 48-year-old from Bundoora underwent a preliminary breath test before undertaking an evidentiary breath test, returning an alleged reading of 0.213.

His car was impounded for 30 days for $999.

The pair are expected to be charged on summons with traffic-related offences.
