SCORESBY, VIC. — Police yesterday arrested a 21-year-old Scoresby man after an elderly man was assaulted in Ferntree Gully last month.
Police will allege that the man verbally abused the 82-year-old man on the Blind Creek Trail after he asked him to slow down on his e-scooter about 1.30pm on Monday, July 6.
He allegedly assaulted him multiple times, pushing him to the ground before fleeing on his e-scooter.
Police will allege the man returned and assaulted the man again on Rankin Road.
The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers executed a search warrant at a Scoresby address yesterday morning, during which the 21-year-old man was arrested.
He was interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons with assault offences.
