Teens arrested following overnight crime spree

Police have arrested five teens after a crime spree consisting of home invasions, theft of motor vehicles, armed robberies and thefts in Melbourne’s south early this morning.

Police have arrested five teens after a crime spree consisting of home invasions, theft of motor vehicles, armed robberies and thefts in Melbourne’s south early this morning.

Police understand the first incident occurred when a group of youths attended a Moralla Street, Kooyong property before stealing a Black BMW X3, registration ZOG840, and silver Audi Q3.

The youths then allegedly attended a Letchworth Avenue, Brighton East property armed with golf clubs smashing windows and vehicles before fleeing in a red SUV.

The two stolen vehicles continued on to a petrol station on Centre Road, Clayton South where they filled up with petrol and then fled the scene.

Police later spotted the stolen Audi and initiated a pursuit with the suspect vehicle coming to a stop on Princes Highway, Pakenham after police deployed stop sticks.

Police arrested five youths, four males and one female aged 13-16, who remain in custody whilst the stolen BMW and occupants remain outstanding.
