ST ALBANS PARK, VIC. — Detectives from Taskforce Hawk charged two CFMEU officials yesterday as part of an investigation into a report of a data breach involving a former CFMEU member and the subsequent sharing of personal information and photographs.
A search warrant was executed at 6am yesterday at a residential address in St Albans Park.
A 37-year-old St Albans Park man has been charged with five counts of distributing intimate images.
He has been bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on January 21, 2027.
A 46-year-old Westbury man was then taken into custody and has also been charged with five counts of distributing intimate images.
He was bailed to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on January 11, 2027.
A mobile phone was seized from the St Albans address.
Specialist detectives from the Cybercrime Squad have been investigating the matter alongside Taskforce Hawk.
The matter was reported to police on June 25, and the information being distributed is alleged to include intimate images.
Investigators will continue to thoroughly assess any information provided to them on the incident and urge anyone with information on this matter to come forward.
