ESSENDON, VIC. — Mooney Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a woman following an assault outside a café in Essendon earlier this year.

A female staff member was serving food to a table outside the premises on Keilor Road when she was allegedly assaulted about 1pm on April 25.

The victim, a 19-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident.

Police arrested a 52-year-old Footscray woman at Dandenong Railway Station about 10.50am on Saturday, May 23.

She was charged with recklessly causing injury and faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court the following day.

The Footscray woman was bailed by the court to next appear at Broadmeadows’ Magistrates’ Court on August 17, 2026.
