Police continue to investigate Craigeburn affray

Victoria Police’s Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged affray outside a shopping centre in Craigieburn on Friday, 9 November.

The alleged incident took place on Lygon Drive about 8pm, Friday, 9 November.

A 23-year-old Roxburgh Park man consequently attended hospital with serious head injuries.

A 19-year-old man, also from Roxburgh Park, attended hospital with minor injuries.

Police have since arrested and charged six offenders in relation to the alleged incident;

A 16-year-old male from Broadmeadows has been charged with affray, recklessly and intentionally cause serious injury, interfere with witnesses and other assault-related offences. He was remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date;

A 19-year-old man from Broadmeadows has been charged with affray and commit indictable offence whilst on bail. He has been remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 23 November;

A 19-year-old man from Roxburgh Park has been charged with affray. He was bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 13 December;

A 20-year-old man from Roxburgh Park has been charged with affray. He was remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 13 December;

A 20-year-old man from Broadmeadows has been charged with affray and assault in company. He is remanded to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 22 February 2019; and

A 19-year-old man from Craigieburn has been charged with affray and commit indictable offence whilst on bail. He is set to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 22 February 2019.

 

Police are still investigating the alleged incident and urging anyone who may have witnessed the affray to come forward urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
