Another Murrindindi Shire pool season is done and dusted with council keen to find out how locals swimming experience was this summer.
Director Community Engagement Shivaun Brown said Council wants to get an understanding of how our communities use our pools and seek their ideas about how we can increase the number of visits.
“Our goal is to ensure things like opening hours, fees and programs are right so that as many community members as possible can make use of the public pool facilities we have in Marysville, Yea, Eildon and Alexandra,” Ms Brown said.
“Swimming pools are a fun and refreshing way for families and friends to connect and spend time together, but sadly, we have seen a real decline in the use of the pools over the last ten years.
We suspect that things like backyard pools, better air conditioning and changes in [the] demographics of the Shire are all influencing how many people are using the pools and how often.”
“If you have feedback or an idea about any or all of the public pools in Murrindindi Shire, please take a minute to share them with us through our Pool Survey. The feedback we receive from the community will help guide the future of public pools and swimming services.
The survey will available on council’s website at www.murrindindi.vic.gov.au/publiccomment until Sunday 14 April,” Brown added.
