Shire seeks input on emergency plan

Murrindindi Shire.

Murrindindi Shire is seeking community feedback on the revised Murrindindi Shire Council and Southern Alpine Resort Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP).

Mayor Cr Charlie Bisset said the MEMP addressed prevention, response and recovery from emergencies within Murrindindi Shire and Lake Mountain Alpine Resort areas.

“I’d encourage or residents to all have a look at this plan and provide us with any feedback you might have.

“The better we can prevent or respond to any emergency, the better (the) outcome for the community and the more resilient our community well become,” she said.

A copy of the plan is on display at all council offices until September 13, 2017.

The plan is a result of the co-operative efforts of the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC) and has been developed for use by all emergency agencies, including council, in planning for and responding to emergency events.

Written submissions should be addressed to Murrindindi Shire Council, Municipal Emergency Management Plan Submission, PO Box 138, Alexandra VIC 3714 or by email to msc@murrindindi.vic.gov.au with ‘Municipal Emergency Management Plan submission’ as the subject.

Enquiries relating to this review should be directed to Chris Price on (03) 5772 0711.
