Yallambie servo robbed by axe wielding bandit

Police allege two males, one armed with an axe entered the Coles Express Yallambie Road/Greensborough Highway service station, confronting a female staff member and delivery driver about 8.50 pm on Monday, June 11.

The delivery man was pushed to the ground and his wallet and mobile phone were stolen by the man with the axe while the other offender went behind the counter, forcing the attendant to open the till, before stealing a quantity of cash and cigarette lighters.

The first man is perceived to be Caucasian and was wearing a black long sleeve top and pants, black balaclava and black gloves.

The second man is perceived to be Caucasian and was wearing a dark grey long sleeve jacket, dark coloured pants, grey cap with a green or grey mask and gloves.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Investigators have released images of the males they wish to speak to in relation to the armed robbery.
