Kinglake footballers start pre-season in sweltering heat

Tonight the Kinglake Football/Netball Club commenced pre-season training for season 2018 in sweltering 30 degree heat.

Over 30 players turned up and pushed through the heat for over an hour just as Kinglake hit its maximum for the day of 31.2 degrees as 10 spectators watched on whilst enjoying a cold beer in the shade.

Several drills were conducted by new coaches Sam Mather and Nathan Booker with the nights’ training concluding in a brief ‘skins vs shirts’ friendly with players regularly rotating due to the extreme heat.

Pre-season training continues on Monday and Wednesday evenings until taking a Christmas break from December 20. An end-of season break up will be held on Friday, December 22 at the club rooms.
