Lakers finals hopes over for 2018

On Saturday Powelltown 9.12 (66) defeated Kinglake 8.4 (52) at the Kinglake Memorial Oval with just four points in the game at the main break in AFL Yarra Ranges division two football.

Powelltown have secured an outside chance of making finals but the stars need to align whilst Kinglake’s finals hopes are over for 2018.

Powelltown got the early lead to be three goals up at quarter time.
Kinglake 2.0 (12) vs Powelltown 4.6 (30).

Kinglake ran the Demons down in the second with the difference just 4 points at half time. Kinglake 6.2 (38) vs Powelltown 6.6 (42).

The Lakers outscored Powelltown in the third quarter before Powelltown went into the last with a two-point lead. Kinglake 8.3 (51) vs Powelltown 7.11 (53).

Powelltown kicked 2.1 to Kinglake’s single behind to get away with a win that they so desperately needed and finish any hopes of Kinglake playing finals this year.
