The Northern Football/Netball League (NFNL) has released the 2018 season fixtures for division one, two and three. Fixtures for under-19 and NFNL Women’s competitions will be released in early 2018.
The first NFNL footy will be bounced on Friday, March 30, 2018 when Eltham hosts Diamond Creek at Eltham Central Park in a Good Friday blockbuster.
A stand alone opening round of division three will be held the following weekend with four matches to be played on Saturday, April 7 with Panton Hill returning to third division, hosting Mernda at A.E. Cracknell Reserve.
This year’s runner-up South Morang plays Kilmore at Kilmore.
St Mary’s hosts Heidelberg West at Whatmough Park, while Reservoir and Epping meet at Crispe Park and Laurimar has a bye.
Division one’s season premiers on Friday, April 13 with a night clash between Northcote Park and reigning premier Bundoora at Bill Lawry Oval, with remaining matches of the opening round to be played on Saturday, April 14.
North Heidelberg will unfurl its 2017 Division 2 premiership flag when they host Macleod at Shelley Reserve, whilst Greensborough and Montmorency meet at the War Memorial Park, Greensborough.
Ben Frilay Oval hosts Hurstbridge at home to West Preston-Lakeside whilst at Whittlesea Showgrounds the Whittlesea Eagles host Heidelberg.
Banyule’s first step into second division commences at home, with the Bears to host Watsonia at R.J. Brockwell Oval.
Eltham is again at home hosting Lalor, while Diamond Creek and Fitzroy Stars will lock horns at Coventry Oval.
Lower Plenty and Thomastown meet at Montmorency Park South Oval.
All three senior men’s competitions have a bye on Saturday, May 19, coinciding with the 2018 AFL Victoria Community Championships. The NFNL takes on the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.
Two matches have been scheduled over the Queen’s Birthday weekend, with Macleod to host North Heidelberg at De Winton Park on Saturday, June 9 and Heidelberg West meeting St Mary’s at Heidelberg Park.
Grand finals for all divisions will be played on a Saturday commencing with division three’s decider on Saturday, September 8.
The division two grand final will be played on Saturday, September 15 with the NFNL season concluding with the division one grand final on Saturday, September 22.
