Only one online news site is based in Murrindindi Shire

Kinglake Ranges News delivers local online news whose reporters and photographers live, work and play in Murrindindi Shire. Kinglake.

Long before creating Kinglake Ranges News we supported the local community through research on the Kinglake Football/Netball Club, managed their website, which then was “the best in the league.”

We delivered vital emergency information to the community via facebook, twitter, UHF CB, 27MHz CB, amateur radio and any form of communications left working, helping save several lives, whilst other journalists just turned up after the fact, with most hours and some weeks too late.

A full report and all photographs taken on that fateful day will be published on February 7, 2019.

Unlike others we don’t pretend to be a part of a community we’re not just to secure some advertising revenue.

Other newspaper proprietors claim to represent the district and to be ‘a part of the community’  yet don’t even live – or have a business (office, home office et al) based in – Murrindindi Shire.

On last checking Glen Gully Rd is in Eltham North and located in Nillumbik (formerly Eltham) Shire, not Murrindindi Shire.

Reporters for the Yea Chronicle and Alexandra Standard, whilst not  an ‘online media’ organisation live, work and play in the Shire they report on too.

I’m here to report local news, whether supported by advertising revenue or not and will continue to do so. Other, Melbourne suburb-based so called ‘local media’ pretending to be locals (when they’re not) to sell advertising space in their long-outdated printed newspaper model. And they’re not even local at all.

Only Kinglake Ranges News delivers news from the district, of the district and for the district by a reporter who actually lives in the district.
