A 45-year-old Lilydale man has been left with no car and a hefty fee to get it back after being intercepted by police on Paynes Road about 11pm.
He then returned a positive preliminary breath test and was taken to a police station.
The man was detected travelling at 151km/h in a 70km/h zone and allegedly drink driving, returning an alleged blood alcohol concentration of .172 per cent in Chirnside Park last night.
The driver had his licence suspended for 12 months and his car impounded at a cost of $1017 and is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and speeding offences.
