Car ransacked in South Morang

Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after items were stolen from a car parked outside a house in South Morang on Sunday, September 2.

The victim’s car, a Toyota Landcruiser wagon, was parked in the driveway at the rear of the residence on The Lakes Boulevard just before 12.45am.

Two men approached the car and unsuccessfully attempted to jemmy the driver’s side door with a pair of scissors, before gaining access to a rear sliding window.

The men then ransacked the car, stealing an 80 litre fridge, cash and a tool set.

Police believe the men drove from the scene in a small grey hatchback, similar to a Volkswagen Golf.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
