King Parrot fox control project

KING PARROT CREEK.

Foxes have a devastating impact on our environment and are largely responsible for the extinction and decline of many of our native ground-nesting birds, mammals and reptiles.

The recent release of the RHDV-K5 rabbit virus is already reducing rabbit numbers and is expected to increase, which means that predator foxes will markedly increase predation of other food sources such as livestock and native wildlife.

Upper Goulburn Landcare Network will work with stakeholders, including Murrindindi Shire Council, to coordinate a fox eradication program in the King Parrot Creek area.

Interested community members and groups are encouraged to contact Chris Cobern on 0413 855 490 or via email at ugln.projects@ugln.net
