Kinglake ANZAC Dawn Service

St Peters WWI Memorial Church, Kinglake.

Kinglake held its annual morning ANZAC Day Service at 10:30am at Kinglake’s War Memorial.

Following the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009 St Peters Memorial Anglican Church introduced a 5:30am Dawn Service.

Both this and the mid morning service at Kinglake Central were attended by many this year with crowd numbers continuing to grow every year at both services.

Kinglake, Middle Kinglake and Kinglake West Primary Schools with the 1st Kinglake Scout Group, the Kinglake Lions Club and Yea High School captains Alex Higgins and Dean Mercuri contributed to Kinglake’s morning service.

Peter Crook of the Yea-Kinglake RSL attended both Kinglake ANZAC Day services.

The Dawn Service was hosted by St Peter’s Reverend Dr Ruwan Palapathwala with the Morning Service hosted by Ivan Peterson of the Uniting Church, Whittlesea and Ken Aitken, Lions Club of Kinglake.
