BENDIGO, VIC. — Two men have been charged and will face the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court today following an alleged home invasion near Bendigo earlier this month.
Detectives allege two men gained access via a door to a home in Long Gully about 5.30am on Friday, December 5.
Once inside the property, the men allegedly made threats towards a woman’s home at the time and assaulted her.
Police will allege the men stole tools from the home and then fled the scene.
The woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Following an investigation by Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives, a warrant was executed at a Magpies Street, North Bendigo address yesterday.
Police arrested and interviewed a 30-year-old North Bendigo man and a 41-year-old Long Gully man.
The 30-year-old was charged with home invasion, firearms offences, intentionally causing injury, common law assault, theft, and making threats to kill.
The 41-year-old was charged with home invasion, firearms offences, intentionally causing injury, common law assault, theft and drug offences.
Both men were remanded to appear before the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
