Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Mernda at the intersection of Bridge Inn Road and Plenty Road about 10.15am on Friday, July 13.
Investigators have been told a male passenger in a white Toyota Hilux utility allegedly got out and approached the 45-year old Melbourne man, threatening him with an axe.
The victim then drove off uninjured.
