THOMASTOWN, VIC. — Police arrested two men and a woman as part of the ongoing investigation into a fatal shooting in Thomastown earlier this week. The trio were arrested in Deer Park about 5.50pm yesterday.

A 19-year-old Donnybrook man, a 20-year-old Donnybrook man and a 19-year-old Lalor woman were interviewed by Homicide Squad detectives yesterday.

The arrests follow the death of Daniel Hussein in Thomastown on Sunday, September 6.

Relatives said Mr Hussein, a plumber, was engaged to be married and had recently bought a house.

“He had his whole life ahead of him,” his brother said at the scene of the shooting earlier this week.

Mr Hussein’s uncle, Abdallah Hussein, said he had never imagined he would have to say goodbye to his nephew.

“I still cannot believe you are gone,” he wrote on social media.

Emergency services responded to reports that a man was shot at a reserve on Victoria Drive shortly after 7.40pm.

Twenty-two-year-old Thomastown man, Daniel Hussein, was treated at the scene, however passed away shortly after.

An investigation is ongoing.
