Police investigating Wallan burglary

Mitchell Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives are investigating a series of burglaries at properties in Wallan and Beveridge over the Grand Final long weekend.

It’s believed an offender forced entry into an Alexander Avenue, Wallan address about 1.20pm on Monday, October 1.

Two children, a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, were home at the time and upon seeing this, it is understood the offender fled the scene.

No one was injured and nothing was stolen during this incident.

The man is perceived to be of Mediterranean appearance and described as about 175cm tall.

It is believed he fled in a stolen silver Toyota Rav 4 SUV.

The front passenger of the vehicle, also perceived to be of Mediterranean appearance, has been described as aged in his early 20s, about 175cm tall and was wearing a black and white baseball cap.

Detectives have released a facial composite image of this man in the hope someone may recognise him (see above).

• Roulston Way, Wallan between 28 September and 2 October

In these two incidents, the house was unoccupied and offenders have stolen cash, jewellery and personal identification documents.
