SP AusNet cancel planned power outage in Kinglake tomorrow

Electricity provider SP AusNet tonight confirmed that tomorrow’s planned power outage for maintenance from 8am to 6pm had been postponed following a risk assessment today.

An AusNet spokeswoman, Helena, confirming to Kinglake Ranges News tonight the planned maintenance works had been postponed.

Yesterday, Kinglake resident Deb (last name withheld) told Herald Sun reporter Genevieve Alison that “Kinglake residents [had] appealed to AusNet to show some common sense.”

“If [a fire] were to happen, we’ve got no way to defend ourselves.

“The 10th anniversary [of Black Saturday], along with the hot weather, brings up some terrible memories for us and this just adds to the stress of it all,” Deb said.
