6:02 pm: Scene cleared and road re-opening.

5:46 pm: Emergency services packing up and returning to other duties or station.

5:26 pm: Whittlesea-Kinglake Road re-opening now.

5:24 pm: Air ambulance departing. Kinglake police return to station. Kinglake CFA and SES units still present at accident scene.

5:04 pm: Yea police taking over accident scene. One passenger by road to hospital. One by air ambulance. Third passenger unknown at present. A witness has agreed to contact Kinglake police on their return to Kinglake Police Station.

5:01 pm:
Air ambulance has landed.

4:53 pm: Air Ambulance airborne at Kinglake Central.

4:45 pm: Trapped person removed from car. Police awaiting air ambulance.

4:35 pm: Vicroads advises that roads are closed between Pratts Rd and Margaret St, Pheasant Creek. Seek alternate route or delay travel. One occupant still trapped.

4:32 pm: Alexandra police sergeant is checking with Kinglake police if ‘oil on road’ signs and sawdust are needed.

4:10 pm: Kinglake police, with assistance from Wallan, Seymour, Mernda and Whittlesea police are attending a serious car accident near National Park Rd. The SES and CFA are also in attendance.

An air ambulance is due to land shortly.

One person is trapped and two are seriously injured following a head-on collision. Police advise motorists to seek alternate routes.

“Not life threatening at this stage,” said a Kinglake police officer at 4:11pm.
