A female passenger has died at Dixons Creek following a car crash early this morning.
It’s believed the driver and female passenger were travelling north on the Melba Highway when the vehicle they were travelling in left the roadway and crashed into a steep embankment sometime before 3.30am.
The yet to be identified female passenger died at the scene and the female driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the cause of the crash and the Melba Highway is currently (10 a.m.) closed with diversions in place.
