Hello Acheron and Surrounds Community,
This morning Acheron CFA members have decided to attend the protest rally on Tuesday against the Emergency Services and Volunteer Levy in support of farmers and our fellow CFA members.
As such, Acheron Fire Brigade will be taken offline.
I want to assure the community that arrangements have been put in place to ensure sufficient coverage of our patch. Extra resources will be responded if required.
With that said, the majority of CFA members across Victoria ARE farmers, and without them, CFA will be a toothless tiger, if CFA survives. This is dire for the farmers and dire for the future of CFA.
My brigade today decided that we need, must, and want to stand shoulder to shoulder and say we are here for you, to our farmers and fellow CFA members – Just like they were all here for us when we needed them on Black Saturday.
And as Captain, I am proud [that] my brigade took this stance.
We are one CFA and we stand together.
Again, though, I want to reassure the community that steps have been taken to ensure sufficient response capability in our area.
