Lakers lose by 66 runs

T.W. BLAKE PARK, PRESTON.

Kinglake’s First XI won the toss and sent the Preston Footballers 2nd XI in to bat with Preston making 217 for five wickets from 35 overs. Preston Footballers 5/217 (cc) defeated Kinglake 2/151.

The Laker’s James Gibbs bowled out two Preston players and three more wickets were taken as catches by Ken Aitken (1) and Max Murray (2) with Gibbs bowling.

The Lakers lost to Preston by 66 runs with captain and club President Jason Gaffee making 105 not out, including 10 fours during a 130-run second-wicket partnership with Alex Hybinett.

Kinglake tried to catch up but didn’t make enough runs from their 35 overs.
