Big numbers at the Yea Golf Club

Easter Saturday, April 19, saw one of the biggest attendances of men to play golf in a Yea club event for some time.

Thirty-two men played a stableford round with stalwart Rob O’Halloran(21) winning the day with 36 points from second Brian Simmons(10) on CB.

Third was Ken Whitfort (10) 35, from fourth Chris Dunne (7) also on 35 on CB.

Fifth was Russell Wealands (22) on CB from Tony Rule, Anthony La Grutta and Zach Pell all with 34. Steve Wealands was NTP on the 14th, and Mal Bett won the Club Award.

Cindy Armstrong, with 33 points, won the ladies stableford on CB from Di Elliott.

Wednesday’s event At Royal Yea was Stroke and Putting with improving Chris Keogh(33) having his best round ever, having 97 off the stick,k nett 64!

Second was in form Rob O’Halloran(21) with a nett 70. Third was new member Glen Walsh(35) with a nett 72 on CB from Phil Armstrong(19). Sam Wright was NTP on the 14th, Ocean Grove visitor Peter Simmons won the putting with 24 putts and Allan Coates won the Club Award.

The Yea Golf Club thanks volunteers and members who continually give their time to maintain the course and clubhouse.
