THOMASTOWN, VIC. — The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) declared the result of the recent by-election for the Thomastown Ward on June 12.

Chaman Tiwari has been elected as the Councillor for Thomastown Ward for the remainder of the current Council term.

This by-election was held following the resignation of Nic Brooks as the Thomastown Ward Councillor in January this year.

On behalf of the City of Whittlesea, we congratulate Ms Tiwari on her election and look forward to working with her in her new role.

Ms Tiwari is currently overseas and will officially be sworn in as a Councillor on Friday, July 3, 2026, and will participate in an extensive induction program.
